This is the mailing list of the "Nuclear Heritage Network". It's supposed to connect anti-nuclear activists, support activities and their work, to make communication easier, give information on internationally relevant issues in this field and to organize mutual activities and meetings.
With the background of the anti-nuclear campaign "Europe's Nuclear Heritage", which started in Germany in 2006, an international network of anti-nuclear activists is developing. At several meetings and events since 2008 we had workshops building this network and asking people to take part in it. Now there are more than 200 people on our listserve from Austria, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hongkong, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, and United Kingdom. Not all of them are organized activists and not all of them will actively take part in the network. But it is a good start.
In August 2008 we had a first network meeting in Bure, France. Later meetings in Frankfurt/Main (Germany), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Helsinki (Finland), České Budějovice (Czech Republic), and Döbeln (Germany) followed. You can find some notes of them on the page http://nuclear-heritage.net. The next meetings planned you will find on this website, too. We will try to organize some money for the travel costs, but we can't promise this. So if you know some sources for paying these costs please tell us.
For communication we have created a mailing list: nuclear-heritage AT lists.riseup.net. This list is thought to be used for networking, connecting people, discussions on the theme of the list, information about international anti-nuclear activities and everything connected to these things. You can subscribe this list online or you send an E-Mail to nuclear-heritage-subscribe AT lists.riseup.net.
For information of the public and for collecting background information, dates of events and activities and for documentation we use the website of the "Nuclear Heritage Network". This is a "Wiki" page, what means, that everybody registered, can write information to this page.
However, we hope you are interested in this network and like to join it.
If you need to contact the moderator of the mailing list, please send an email to contact AT nuclear-heritage DOT net.
